With visitors to Vegas becoming much more cost conscious, this has led to an increase in demand for hotel rooms in the Downtown area.
Yesterday marked the start of a brand new project over at the Downtown Grand which will see them adding another tower to increase the properties capacity.
It is expected that the new tower will be completed at some point in 2020 and will add an additional 495 rooms to their venue, which almost doubles the number of rooms they will then have on offer to some 1124.
To cater for all tastes and budgets those 495 rooms will be made up of 405 of their standard rooms, 67 studies and a total of 20 one bedroom suites along with three of their VIP accommodating Presidential Suites.
More and more people have been wising up to the costs associated with staying in the major casino resorts up and down the Strip recently, and with those properties adding more and more add-on charges and increasing their resort fees, visitors are beginning to vote with their feet, hence the need for the expansion of casinos like the Downtown Grand.
In fact, with the announcement the other day that a brand new 777 room hotel will also be built on Fremont Street things are certainly looking good for that part of town and the demand is certainly there for rooms and suites.
It is of course true to say those Downtown casinos are never going to be able to offer as many facilities as the Strip based resorts, but there is a lot to see and do in and around the area and staying there does cost a fraction of the cost of staying on the Strip, which is why more and more people are opting to stay there.
