Over in Waterloo in Seneca County, the Del Lago Resort and Casino does of course have a casino license, but they have not yet been issued with one of the new sportsbook licenses that many casinos in and around the area have applied for.
That, however, hasn’t stopped the casino operators driving forward with their sportsbook plans. In fact, work has just begun on building that sportsbook.
Unlike standard sportsbooks though, the one that is being built at the Del Lago Resort and Casino is going to be a “sports lounge” and no expense is being spared to ensure it is a warm and welcoming place for everyone with a passion for sports betting.
The old Vine Restaurant and Bar inside the casino resort is being demolished to make way for the sports lounge, and as such it does have a prime spot on the gaming floor, or it will do once it has been built.
It is thanks to a partnership with DraftKings that the sports lounge is going to become a reality, and if the Gaming Commission approves the venue it is expected to be open by summer.
As for just what sports bettors can expect from the soon to be open sports lounge, well it will occupy some 6000 square foot and there will certainly plenty of space for customers, for it is expected to seat about 200 of them.
With self-service state of the art betting terminals, and huge TV Screens and live betting odds being updated in real time, punters are certainly going to be in seventh heaven when they do pay the venue a visit.
The casino operators are hoping it will be a huge success, much more so when you realise that 15% of the casinos slot machines have been removed from the gaming floor to help accommodate the sports lounge!
