Placing bets can lead to a lot of nail-biting, hoping that win comes along. For Marcus McNulty from Manchester, he had to wait a whole day before the final leg of his accumulator was played and then he had a big decision to make.
Marcus had placed a £5 four-fold with SkyBet requiring Tottenham, Schalke 04, Napoli and West Brom to win with both teams scoring. If successful he’d have won £428.40 but it proved to be a bet that had its ups and downs.
Not that Harry
It all started on Sunday January 20 when Tottenham travelled to Fulham. With Harry Kane out injured, they recalled Fernando Llorente but then he scored an own goal after just eight minutes. Dele Alli equalized but it was still 1-1 going into second-half injury time. There was probably a very large cheer when Harry Winks hit a 93rd minute winner to keep the bet alive.
The next game also produced a few worries. Schalke 04 took an early lead over Wolfsburg but only kept it for 12 minutes. At least both teams had scored though but with 12 minutes to go, the scores were still level. Thankfully, Schalke got the winning goal and it was two out of two for this bet.
Napoli were up next, and the Italian side had to wait until the 34th minute for their first goal, but the second followed three minutes later. Lazio needed to score to keep the bet going and they did the job with a 65th minute goal with the game ending 2-1.
Cash Out?
One leg to go but there was a long wait until 8pm the following night. West Brom were up against Bolton and a goal in each half had them 2-0 up. However, struggling Bolton only had three shots on goal but thank god for cash out. Marcus hit that button and walked away with £198.90 and smiled even more when the game ended 2-0.
