Madame Ink slot is an October 22nd release from developer Play’N Go. Apparently it’s an Ink-credible playing experience revolving around the art of tattoos and oriental type imagery. However, does this slot live up to its own hype or will playing it result in an experience you wish you could forget and erase from history, like that time you got phenomenally drunk and woke up with your own name tattooed across your forehead . . .

Summary
Madame Ink isn’t exactly packed with modifiers and bonus features but it keeps you entertained . . . for a while at least. Graphically it looks great, as Play’N Go slots always do but I felt something lacking here and the slot didn’t appeal to me nearly as much as some other recent medium volatility releases from the same developer, such as Octopus Treasure or Jolly Roger 2.

How it Pays and Plays
Madame Ink has 5 reels with 3 rows and 243 fixed paylines. You get a 5,000x max win potential and a medium volatility level. The volatility is set to medium and the default RTP is set to 96.21% but Play’N Go allow casinos to alter this to different level, which can dip as low as 84.2%, so make sure you check what the RTP setting is at before you play and if a casino doesn’t disclose this information then don’t even bother playing there.
Base Game Modifiers
Madame Ink has 2 base game modifiers which are as follows:
- Wild Ink Feature: This sees Wild Ink symbols in which the ink can spill and then go on to fill the entire reel, making for a Wild Reel. This can happen on multiple reels but does not happen each time a Wild Ink symbol lands.
- Madame’s Mystery: during any base game spin a mystery symbol, which is Madame Ink displaying two Koi Carp tattooed on her back, will land on Reel 3 and cover the entire reel. There will also be a random amount of mystery symbols which land across the other positions on the reels. Madame Ink will then change to reveal a mystery symbol across the Reel 3 and the other mystery symbols will all turn to reveal the same symbol as this one.
Free Spins Bonus
There are 3 options to choose from when you trigger then free spins bonus by landing 3 Scatter symbols. The options are as follows:
3 Spins = All spins have both base game modifiers activated
6 Spins = All spins have the Madame’s Mystery Reel activated
12 Spins = All spins have the Wild Ink Feature activated
Sound and Graphics
Madame Ink is set on a background of what looks like a Chinese backstreet alley with a fruit and vegetable street seller stall to the right and some cardboard boxes to the left. You can also see a rat running by every now and then, helping to add to the idea that it’s a fairly grimy kind of place.
Lower paying symbols include Clubs, Hearts, Spades and Aces, paying 0.6x to 0.8x for 5 of a kind.
Premium symbols are a bird with a long beak, a blue dragon mask, a green dragon mask and a red dragon as the top paying symbol which will give you 5x for 5 of a kind.
All symbols are very detailed and clearly a lot of work has gone into producing the overall design of the slot. It looks top tier and you know it’s a Play’N Go slot as soon as you lay eyes on it.
Sound wise the music is pretty quiet and adds just a touch of atmosphere whilst sound effects are more audible.
Wild symbols are a jar of ink, which can sub for any other symbol apart from the Scatters.
Scatter symbols are red and blue dragons in an “S” shape.
Mystery symbols appear when the Madame’s Mystery symbol comes into reel 3 and they are blue with 2 gold Koi Carp on them.
