It has been known for quite a while that both Derek and Greg Stevens had something special planned for the plot of land on Fremont Street that once was the home to properties such as the Las Vegas Club, which were demolished recently.
Well, in something of a blaze of glory yesterday it was finally revealed over at the Las Vegas Events Center Downtown that the new property which is being built is to be known as The Circa, a huge and very impressive looking property if the artist’s impressions are to be believed.
The Circa will be the very first casino in over 38 years that has been built Downtown, and the property will be a mix of the glamour and glitz of long gone Vegas with all the state of the art features of modern day Vegas, too.
In attendance at the revealing of the plans for the new casino resort was Mayor Carolyn Goodman who was very impressed with the new venue, and is in no doubt that it will be a game changer for the area.
If all goes to plan the Circa Casino Resort could be open at the end of 2020 and it is going to feature amongst many other things, 777 rooms, the longest outdoor bar on Fremont Street, a two level casino, six swimming pools and a three story sportsbook that will have a huge 125 foot TV screen.
Whether or not the Circa sparks something of a new trend for Downtown casino operators to demolish and then rebuild their properties from the ground up, does remain to be seen, however there is no doubt in anybody’s mind that once built and opened the Circa will be impressive and one of the busiest casinos in or around Fremont Street.
