Each year around this time, the Downtown Casino over in Summerlin, Nevada launches their Christmas charity campaign, and this year sees them installing four “giving machines” as part of their #LightTheWorld campaign.
Those machines look like and appear to be simple vending machines, however what makes them unique is that users of those machines can purchase a range of gifts which are automatically donated to families in need in the surrounding area or people in need worldwide.
Visitors to the Downtown Summerlin can swipe their debit or credit card into the machine then decide just which gift they would like to buy for a local family or for someone around the world, and gifts range from those costing just $2 through to gifts that cost as much as $320
The giving machines have now been unveiled by Vegas headliner Donny Osmond, who spoke at the unveiling event with great pride as to how his son helped design and develop the machines.
So for anyone that does wish to make a completely anonymous gift donation to those in need can now do so 24/7, and the items people can buy others include school supplies, fresh produce, meals, vaccines and even help pay for exam and tuition fees and eye glasses or even community group outings.
Several charities have signed up to the scheme and will be the ones that benefit from all gifts donated, and they include Church World Services Global, Three Square, Eye Care 4 Kids, Opportunity Village, Future Smiles, UNICEF and Communities in Schools of Nevada.
Those giving machines are going to be available through to the 2nd of November and for those of you that do fancy making use of them the address of the Downtown Summerlin is 1980 Festival Plaza Drive.
