Gambling technology company GAN has signed a deal to provide internet gaming content for Goldbet, one of Italy’s leading sports betting and casino operators.

The original deal, which strengthens GAN’s position as Italy’s main gambling services and software provider, was signed back in April, and made Goldbet the ninth client to rely on GAN gambling infrastructure. The company has now confirmed that it has completed the integration of its technology into the Goldbet online platform and has launched gambling content for the company.

Large network

Goldbet currently operates a large network of retail gambling venues in Italy, which totals more than 900, and the company accounts for around 3 percent of all online casino gaming in the country. The company was founded in 2000 and is a subsidiary of the Gamenet Group.

With the successful launch of its Goldbet partnership, GAN’s roster of over 500 casino slots and table games is now utilised by nine Italian operators, who together make up over 45 percent of the total Italian online casino gambling market, according to gross gaming revenue figures.

Italy continues to be a major area of growth for the company and its Italian revenue grew to £1.7 million for the first half of 2018, representing a little under 40 percent of all their net revenue. The company’s shares rose in early morning trading as a result of the launch, and the CEO of GAN, Dermot Smufit, said that the launch underlined their ability to attract major gaming industry clients through the provision of high quality online casino products.
