Primal Hunt slot is a September 2020 release from Betsoft. We venture to the ancient prehistoric Caveman era here, a fairly common slot theme but again, it’s one that works well most of the time. The focus here is more directly placed on the Cave Lion and the tools used to hunt it, along with some ancient cave paintings, you never actually see any cavemen. Anyway, read on for the full stats, watch our video of the bonus round or just take a look at the summary below to get an idea of what we thought of Primal Hunt slot.

Summary
Primal Hunt slot doesn’t have much new to offer to players. The base game seems a little bland and some extra modifiers would have been nice to keep things ticking over. It did seem to tease with the bonus pretty frequently though which landed often enough not to be frustrating. The free spins round clearly has some good potential if you can hit the multipliers well. However, if you’re looking for a recent caveman styled slot you might find 1 Million BC Megaways more interesting.

Symbols and Graphics
Primal Hunt slot is set in a cave, you can see the rocks to the side and the cave deepening off into the background. The reels are transparent when the lower paying symbols land. You can also see the slot name written above the reels in caveman type rocky writing. It looks alright but it won’t blow you away, I’ve seen more effort go into designing the background of most slots to be honest and they could have done more with it but it looks ok enough.
The music has an echoey sound to it, helping you feel like you’re in a cave and suits the game very well.
The lower payers are Jacks up to Aces.
Premium symbols start with 4 cave paintings. These are a deer, a horse, a bison and a wooly mammoth. Then we step things up further with an Axe, then a Spear and finally, the top payer as the Cave Lion who’ll bag you 10x for 5 of a kind.
These aren’t particularly high paying by any means but it’s the Wild multipliers in the free spins round that sees the potential open out with wins capable of being multiplied up to 27 times.
Wild symbols are orange/black and red saying “WILD” on them and can substitute for any other symbol apart from the Scatters.
Scatters are the Hunting Cave Lion, looking poised to strike. A minimum of 3 are needed to trigger the bonus free spins round.
Free Spins Bonus
Land 3, 4 or 5 Cave Lion Scatter symbols to get 8, 12 or 20 free spins. They will also pay 8x, 16x and 96x respectively.
Free spins can be retriggered with landing 3 or more Scatter symbols again.
The Wilds symbols, which are only available to land on reels 2, 3 and 4 can all have up to 3x multipliers added to them. If these are lined up next to each other they will multiply each other. So, for example, if you have 3 of the 3x multiplier wild on reels 2, 3 and 4 you’ll end up with a multiplier value of 27. This is the way the big wins can stack up.
