Overall Impression
Spartacus Megaways might not be a visual treat but looking to the success of its past incarnations we can see that this really doesn’t matter, although we would like to have seen things upgraded a bit more design wise. The Cascading wins and revealing curtain is a nice touch to the base game. The free spins bonus round hits the mark pretty well and with its high volatility you can see some really big wins stack up, especially if you get a high number of megaways to start the bonus round with. If you’re a fan of the Spartacus Slot series then this is most certainly worth trying out.

How it Pays and Plays
The gladiatorial slot action takes does battle on a 6 reel grid with each having between 2 and 10 paylines. You get a minimum of 324 ways to win right up to a huge maximum of 1,000,000 ways.
Unlike most Megaways slots the extra column of 4 symbols is added below the reels. These are located under reels 2 to 5.
The RTP is set at a respectable level of 96.32% and Spartacus Megaways is a highly volatile slot machine with max win potential of 12,500x.
The minimum bet is 20p/cents up to $/£/€20.
A Red Curtain will also be present and covering certain amounts of the reels on each spin. This will determine how many ways to win can be formed.
Symbols and Graphics
Spartacus Megaways is set between two columns with the reels sporting the familiar symbols from previous incarnations of the Spartacus slot game from WMS. I’ve never been a huge fan of the visuals of the Spartacus slots and i would say the same for this Megaways version.
Low paying symbols are 9 through to Ace playing cards. Premium symbols are a tiger, a gladiator, axes, a sword and shield and the Spartacus Megaways slot logo which will pay you 25x for a full line of 6 of a kind.
The Gladiator symbols acts as the Wild whilst the Scatter is an amphitheatre with Bonus written on it. The Wild can only land on reels 2,3,4 and 5.
Cascading Wins and Revealing Curtains
As with many slot of this type, Spartacus Megaways employs the use of Cascading wins. When any winning combination is formed the winning symbols will explode and a new symbol will drop down to take its place. Each time this happens you’ll also find that one random segment of the curtain is removed to reveal a possible new connecting way to win. This keeps going until there are no new winning combos formed. It’s a nice touch to the base game and one which really helps to keep your interest.
Free Spins Bonus
No Megaways would be complete without a compelling free spins bonus and Spartacus Megaways succeeds here. Land in 4 or more Scatter symbols to trigger the bonus round. Once this is done you’ll be taken to a new screen with 2 bonus wheels. One will tell you how many free spins you’ll get (6, 8, 10, 12, 14 or 16) and the other wheel will tell you how many ways to win you get.
This is where you say your prayers as the reels spin and hope you hit a large number of Megaways and as many free spins as possible, as this will likely make or break the bonus round.
During the free spins each win will add a 1x multiplier to any further combos you get. This is unlimited and will be what makes fr the massive wins.
The free spins can be retriggered by landing 3 or more Scatters and you’ll get the number of free spins which you initially won added to your total.
