Summary

Ancient Warriors slot offers a lowish max win considering that it is labelled as a high volatility slot. The animations and graphics look pretty good and the see-thru reels mechanic add something new to the mix. However, the symbols are low paying even for a full line and the Wild multipliers are most certainly sorely needed to give the game any potential of paying out decently. with a hit rate of nearly 1 in 3 spins though it is easy to see why payouts are low. Whether or not this slot will gain any traction over the long term is doubtful, though i fully expect to see more of the see-thru reels in further releases.

How it Pays and plays

The initial reel setup is somewhat unusual perhaps, with 4 reels and 6 rows on each, which become transparent when they spin (more on that later).

There are 50 paylines which sets up the Any Adjacent Wins structure, meaning that wins don’t need to start from the first reel, in fact they can 3 of a kind from right to left will also pay, so effectively wins just start from the 2nd reel as there are only 4 reels.

Stakes range from 0.2 coins to 115 coins of your playing currency, certainly putting it in the class of a high roller slot whist still leaving it open to those on lower budgets playing for lesser stakes, myself included!

The RTP of Ancient Warriors slot is 96% which is just average and certainly not a selling point.

The hit rate comes in at 29.22% which is really pushing things quite high and will see you never go too long without a win.

The max win potential of Ancient Warriors slot is 1,807x, not too shabby but again, not a massive selling point and it would probably be a put off to high rollers.

Symbols and Graphics

The Ancient Warriors slot is set on the background of a Chinese Temple with orange columns and roof tiles with what looks like a mountainous forest like backdrop on the night sky.

The lower valued symbols include Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces which pay from 0.3 to 0.7x for 4 of a kind. The  “premium” symbols don’t pay much higher though, they include neon coloured cats, monkeys, serpents and all pay from 0.7x to just 1.5x for 4 of a kind.

The Scatter symbols are neon blue Chinese symbols. 3 or more land the free spins feature.

The Wild symbol is a the Yin-Yang symbol of balance.

Feature Symbols are Gold Chinese symbols.

Bonus Features

Base Game Modifiers: Should you land one or two feature symbols they can transform into wilds if they are stacks of 3, 4 or 5. They will turn into the Ying-Yang Wild symbols and substitute for all other symbols except the Scatter.

Stacked Multipliers: If the feature symbols land 3, 4 or 5 in a row then they will turn into Multipliers, from 2x to 10x and one of the Ancient Warriors will come and strike them with his sword to transform them.

Free Spins Bonus: Land 3 Scatters to get 5 free spins. Wilds will lock in place during the free spins for each extra Scatter you can get 1 added free spin up to a maximum of 10 spins.
