Value for Money
Diamond Vortex is a highly entertaining slot with a diverse range of modifiers which make it feel like there’s a lot of action going on. The graphics may be slightly basic but it perhaps needs to be due to the amount of things which are happening. The outers pace look is pulled off pretty well though. Overall, another decent slot game from Play’N Go.
- 5,000x Win potential

Diamond Vortex Slot Stats
4 to 7
How it Pays and Plays
Set on a hexagonal grid there are 7 reels and between 4 and 7 rows. The grid consists of 3 rings which rotate one space with every winning cluster formed, the outmost and largest ring will rotate clockwise, the middle anticlockwise and the inner ring clockwise. The central symbol is a Wild and remains fixed for the entire game.
6 or more symbols next to each other form a winning line – it sounds like a lot compared to other cluster pays slots, but in reality it isn’t as you’ll see when you play.
The volatility is rated at medium/high and you have the typical Play’N Go max win potential of 5,000x. The RTP is a default 96.2%.
Stakes range from 10p/cents up to a massive $/£/€100
There is a free spins bonus round and numerous modifiers to keep the game feeling exciting.
Symbols and Graphics
Diamond Vortex slot is set against the backdrop of outer space. You can see the swirling galaxy in the background, peppered with just visible stars.
The symbols on consist of various shiny looking crystals and jewels with the pink/red crystal paying 1x for 6 of a kind and a nice big 100x for 35 of a kind.
There are 2 wild symbols, the core Wild and Sticky Wilds which gravitate to the core with every win.
There are also 3 spot symbols, light blue, pink and orange.
Bonus symbols can be collected to trigger the free spins round.
Diamond Vortex slot has a quite basic look but it has clearly been solidly designed. The symbols are bold and clear, helping you to see what is going on.
Rotating and Cascading Wins Function
Each time 6 or more symbols connect to form a win the rings all rotate. The outer two clockwise and the inner one anticlockwise. New symbols will slide down to take the place of the winning symbols which disappear after each win. Each win makes the rings rotate one row, bringing symbols one place closer to the central Wild symbol, or the “Diamond Vortex”.
Sticky Wilds and Consume Feature
You’ll see that Wilds will land to help form winning combos, these will not vanish like the other symbols do in a cascading win. Instead they remain in place and get dragged further towards the diamond vortex in the centre. If they reach the central vortex wild they will be “consumed” and they will add a 1x multiplier to every win.
When any of the 3 spot symbols rotates from the bottom position to its opposite position on the top of the reels it will be trigger the entire ring to transform into the same symbols. 2 or more spots can hit the top positions at the same time causing multiple reels to turn to the same symbol and this is when you’ll hit some monster wins, as you can see in our demo video.
Free Spins Bonus
When you manage to get 1, 2 or 3 bonus symbols to the centre wild you’ll get 5, 10 or 15 spins respectively. The free spins can also be retriggered by getting an extra bonus symbols to the centre.
The multiplier does not reset during free spins either, helping to rack up the big wins.
