It has just been announced that a new casino resort will be built in east Arkansas. The resort will be adjoining a greyhound racing track already operating there.

It is a project that has been planned by a company called Delaware North, who are the parent company of the greyhound track, that being Southland Gaming and Racing.

No expense is being spared on the project, with $250million having been set aside to build it, and having seen plans for the new casino it is certainly going to be a huge one.

If everything goes as expected, work will commence in summer of this year on the casino resort which is going to have a gaming floor that covers a huge 133,000 square feet and will have an adjoining 20 story hotel, too.

Once it is completed the property will be house to up to 2400 slot and gaming machines and around 60 table games too.

The project has only been made possible thanks to local voters approving legalizing casinos in and around the area just a few months ago. However, when their approval was given it was only going to be a matter of time before projects were announced to build land based casino resorts in and around the area.

But this new casino resort is one that does seem to have got local residents excited, for it is going to be a huge attraction for east Arkansas and will employ plenty of people in and around the area. It should raise a small fortune for the local community too by way of taxes, which were the main reason why locals voted in very large numbers to allow casinos to be opened there.
