It’s amazing how much you can win with a stake of just £5. Just ask Tom Batkin who on Saturday January 19 had an all-successful four-fold and took home £3,351.23 thanks to some late goals. Now he and his family are off on a Caribbean cruise.

The bet was laid at SkyBet and had odds of 669.31/1 and required Southampton, Stoke City, Brentford and Macclesfield Town to win with both teams in each game scoring.  It was a risky bet as Brentford were away to Rotherham and were still looking for their first away league win of the season.

Optimistic Selections

Stoke had gone six games without a win and were hosting the Championship’s top team Leeds United and you can bet that Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa had done his homework on their opponents. Southampton had only won one home league game and Macclesfield are in the League Two relegation zone.

The bet didn’t get off to a good start as Macclesfield went 1-0 down in the very first minute. By half-time, each of the four games were all-square. Thankfully, his selections did better in the second half but there was still plenty of work to do with twenty minutes left. Everton and Leeds both needed to score, while Brentford and Macclesfield only led by one goal.

In the 72nd minute more problems arrived as Rotherham equalized against Brentford. The Londoners responded well scoring in the 74th and 84th minute to secure a 4-2 win and finally get an away league win.

Leaving it Late

The games at Southampton and Stoke reached the 90th minute with both selections leading 2-0. Then the late late show began as Gylfi Sigurdsson scored for Everton in the 90th minute. Even better news came from Stoke as Ezgjan Alioski scored what proved to be a consolation goal for Leeds but a bet winning one and now he’s off on a Caribbean cruise with his family.
